Krieghoff Spare Comb Locking Screw

This small grub screw is used on the Krieghoff K-80 and K-20 Adjustable Combs to lock the comb to the pillar. The screw measures M5x5 and uses the 2.5mm Comb Wrench to adjust.

Only ONE Spare Screw is supplied.

To replace the screw, follow the steps below.

  • Using the 2.5mm Hex Wrench, slacken the two Comb Locking Screws and remove the comb from the stock.
  • You can then tighten the old screw and it will screw into the comb pillar recess and you can remove it.
  • Do Not Try to remove the screw through the access holes in the wood. The comb hardware prevents it from passing a certain point to protect the wood, so forcing it will just cause damage to the screw and potentially cause difficulty removing it.
  • Once the screw is removed, you can replace it with a new screw.
  • This can be difficult as you need to use the wrench to turn the screw whilst backing it into the thread. Do not use pliers as this may damage the thread.
  • TIP (See final image) - Use some sticky tape on something thin and solid enough (like cardboard). Attach the screw and insert it into the pillar recess. You can insert the wrench into the screw and apply pressure using the cardboard, then turn the wrench counterclockwise until the thread bites. You can remove your cardboard/tape once the screw is in.
